Personality: Born as a complete daddy's boy, Mammy is well-known for being a simple-minded, but beautifully sweet beast. Whenever he blinks those gorgeous black-framed baby blue eyes to somebody, and lets a small, curved smile cross his muzzle, he leaves deep impressions and generally gets his way, unless he's trying to provoke somebody with a heart of stone.
Mamello grew up in a tight family setting, even though they lived practically in the middle of rural nowhere. The entire African family had congregated in this one section of Egypt, digging their dens in the wind-scratched sand and raising healthy and normally tan-colored litters. Mammy's mother died a few months after she had her first successful litter, dying a slow and naive death where half the time she was lost in what could be considered a coma. The birth of her two sons had taken a huge beating on her, and she died long before the time that they were old enough to see.
This left the father to raise his two sons and thus cultivated a very strong tie within the small, three-part family. In fact, Mammy never tired or bickered with his father like he witnessed many young males doing, nor with the powerful idea of his brother. Actually, the trio supported one another in a way that was unfamaliar to the land, even when they were separated across continents and oceans.
Due to this, Mam has a strong sense of belonging whenever he's around his sibling and father. The three are close enough that sometimes they can even finish one another's sentences, or complete a conversation remark that the other left hanging. Watching the three fight among themselves with words is entirely humorous because they can normally guess what the other is about to say and break in with their response before they're even finished.
Stemming from the influence of his family members, Mammy grew up without the belonging problems he would have had elsewhere. His dark outlined eyes and the naked fur covering his body gave him a stout figure that was generally unacceptable; but his father and brother always protected him, so until Mam left the den at the age of 11 years, he wasn't even aware that he was exceptionally different at all.
Even though Mamello receives a lot of grief for his appearance, it doesn't hamper his personality. He is still a complete sweetheart and loves to help out anybody, whether it be stranger or friend. His family's morals were passed down onto him and he has always refused to fight or shed innocent blood, so this either earns him more friends or more enemies. He is especially scorned by the females, mainly because they fret that he wouldn't produce handsome kits with them and because he refuses to fight for their attention.
But overall, it doesn't bother Mam. He gets lost in his unique world of tree-climbing and canyon hopping, and leaves behind the insults of the females to continue traveling. In all honesty, he isn't even serious about finding a mate. Even though Mamello just recently turned 20, a young male in his prime, he has yet to find a female who has really attracted his attention. Set on finding the perfect one, like how his father always professed that their dead mother was his one and only, he may remain single for years to come.
Being superbly competitive, Mamello rejoices in finding competitions or anything that is a challenge to win. He seeks out these problems, whether with strangers or friends at all. While most of the time he won't even win the challenges because he's not excelled in that particular hobby, Mammy still loves the experience he gets from it and the thought that maybe one day he should try it out himself.
Besides that, Mammy is always looking for more friends, which is a blessing on itself. Mamello is a fantastic friend, for all the fact that he is incredibly dedicated to his friendships and always works to keep them efficient and healthy. If one of his friends need him and manages to get a message or call to him, he will be there as soon as possible, no matter where he is or what he's doing. This has always made him well-sought for lonely strangers, and because he is so open-minded and accepting to anybody, no matter what, he has many friends that would be classified as...unusual.
History: Mamello's parents had been happy long before he was born. The couple had fallen in love quickly and utterly, with no escape from the tangling emotions. His father, Gathii, was 25 years old when he met the love of his life. His parents, after years of not choosing a mate, had been trying to pressure him, but even they were taken off guard when he seduced the mysterious accented stranger that wandered the land one season.
The girl was named Amara, and she was of an entirely different color then the sand-hued ones bred and raised on the grasslands of Africa. Pale in coloration, she was exceptionally young at only 10 years of age. She had just barely left the protective den of her guardians and meandered across continent masses. Gathii fell head over heels in love with the beautiful female, and he finally talked her into staying with him for just one reason. Generally, the couple was frowned upon because of how young she was, but they didn't care. They were completely in love.
A few seasons later, Amara conceived her first litter. The two firsttime parents were overjoyed, and Gathii spent most of his day coddling and entertaining his mate. But when the time came to deliever the cubs, something happened inside her that was not meant to. An organ had been damaged by the larger litter size and her smaller, more petite and young body, and although both sons were born alive and healthy, she slipped into a coma by the blood loss of the internal wound. Amara lasted a few moons before she finally succumbed to her disease and dying slowly by the love of her mate who refused to leave her side.
At the same time that she was buried, Mammy and Kari, the young boys, both opened their eyes.

Other:
1. Mamello Issa had an unusual illness at birth that made his eye whites pure black. This is an extremely rare birth defect, but does not hamper his vision very well or anything else.
2. Because Mamello is missing his facial markings, or has a "nude face", he nearly always has painting on, at least on his face if not on his tail and flank.
3. The color, and design, of the paint varies from season to season. Most common design is depicted in his reference, with the painting being white. Sometimes it can be dark blue, dark purple, black, and even gray occasionally.
